New From W3FF Antennas - A Portable Capacity Hat

The latest addition to the growing list of accessories for W3FF's portable antenna is a collapsible capacity hat that attaches to the top of either a four or five section shock cord whip. This becomes a very effective top or end loader and is used to aid operation on the lower bands.

It is formed from five lightweight aluminum tubes that lock into a small machined hub with tips of tubes connected with a fine stainless steel wire.  A threaded fitting on the top of the shock cord whip is used to attach the capacity hat.

It can be deployed as a top loader a vertical or two capacity hats are used when the configuration is a center fed dipole.

The complete unit transports in a 50mm plastic tube around 600mm long.
