The Scrub Pole is a vertical monopole assembled from six 1.82M sections of tubular aluminium. The sections range in diameter from 28mm down to 12mm.

The assembled antenna is 10M (33 feet) overall, this has a resonance point in the lower 40M band. Two guy rings are provided and the user needs to supply some light UV resistant nylon cord for the guy ropes..

The antenna sections are protected with a grey/green powder coat. This has the additional benefit of a reduction of the the visual impact.

There are a quite few ways to use the Scrub Pole, in its most basic form just feed the antenna at the base with suitable coaxial cable with the inner connected to the antenna feed point and the braid connects to a network of radials. This works well on the 40 and 15M bands. Another alternative is to locate an automatic antenna coupler similar to the SG 237 or SG230 at the base, This coupler, when tuned presents the antenna as a 50 ohm load to the transceiver at the selected frequency .
